Lemon balm organic

Melissa officinalis

Botanical Properties

Lemon balm is a herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family.
Its stem is square and between 30 to 40cm in height; its heart-shaped bright green serrated leaves give off a lemony aroma.
Its yellowish-white flowers appear at the base of the leaves between June and August.
The plant grows wild in the Mediterranean and in the Orient.
The very low yield from distillation of the aerial parts of the Lemon balm makes it a relatively expensive essential oil.

Origin and history
