Eucalyptus radiata

Botanical Properties

Eucalyptus radiata is a great tree belonging to the Myrtaceae family that can grow up to 50m in height. Its flowers, which appear in summer, grow in clusters of 10 to 20 tops. Its bark is fibrous, of a grey green colour, and is shed in long ribbons. The radiata species of the Eucalyptus genus is the most commonly used in holistic pharmacology, due to the impressive properties of its essential oil.

Origin and history

As with all eucalyptus trees, E. radiata originated in Australia. The aborigines have known and utilised this plant for generations for its antibacterial properties: they wrap their open wounds with fresh Eucalyptus radiata leaves.

Energetic values and synergies

In energy aromatherapy, Eucalyptus radiata essential oil is linked to the neck chakra, Vishuddi, which is associated with the colours blue and turquoise. As this essential oil stimulates the Vishuddi chakra, it fuels strength and bravery in those who are lacking in these traits, and who feel discouraged and weak.
To promote concentration, apply 1 drop of Eucalyptus radiata essential oil on the throat and pronounce the OM mantra.
