Botanical Properties

Exotic verbena is a small tropical tree that belongs to the Lauraceae family. Its evergreen, alternate leaves lead to flowers. Its fruits ressemble peppercorns in shape.

Origin and history

Originating in China, Litsea cubeba or exotic verbena is widely used for its scent in cosmetics, and for its therapeutic anti-inflammatory, sedative, and calming properties.

Indications

With its soft, soothing perfume, exotic verbena essential oil will put an end to insomnia. It is also prescribed against anxiety, nervous depression, rheumatisms, tendonitis, fungal infections, and acne. 

Instructions

Please consult a doctor before taking any treatment or therapy orally.
Oral administration:
Take 2 drops of organic exotic verbena essential oil 2 times a day. Mix with some honey or syrup, or on a lozenge to help treat insomnia.  
On the skin:
 Mix 2drops of organic exotic verbena essential oil with 6 drops of sesame oil and use to locally massage areas affected by tendonitis. 
By diffusion:
By diffusing this oil into the atmosphere, exotic verbena essential oil provides a soft ambiance with a pleasant, fresh, and citrusy scent. Diffusing this oil for a few minutes in the bedroom will help to promote sleep and relax the body.

In energy aromatherapy, exotic verbena essential oil is linked to the throat Chakra, “Vishuddha”, which is associated with the colour blue.
