Lemongrass belongs to the Poaceae family. It is a hardy tropical plant, growing up to around 1.5m. It has a very dense root network and its leaves, which are a pale bluey-green, are particularly rough and sharp to the touch.

Indications
Owing to its ability to stimulate the immune system, organic lemongrass essential oil is also an effective preventive and curative treatment for winter colds.
It is also useful for removing cellulite and stretch marks and can be used in synergy with cedar, lemon and cypress as an effective slimming treatment. Lemongrass is also very good for relieving stress.
Instructions
Please consult a doctor before taking any treatment or therapy orally.
Oral administration: 2 drops of organic lemongrass essential oil, twice a day, with a little honey and syrup, or on a lozenge for improving digestion.
On the skin: 30 drops of organic lemongrass essential oil + 20ml of organic sesame oil and massage into the outer thighs for better muscle tone.
By diffusion: When diffused in the atmosphere, lemongrass essential oil is an effective treatment for flu or infectious illnesses. It is also a great repellent against mosquitoes and other insects.

Energetic values and synergies
In energy aromatherapy, lemongrass essential oil is associated with the solar plexus chakra, or the 'Manipura', the third chakra. It is yellowy-gold in colour and its element is fire.
Lemongrass essential oil helps eliminate fear and negative emotions. It also helps chase away demons from the spirit and bring it back onto the path of wisdom.
