Botanical Properties
This tropical plant belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It has large, velvety leaves, and measures between 50 and 90 cm in height. It looks quite similar to mint, which is from the same family.
Origin and history
Originally from India, patchouli has practically become this country’s symbol, as it is so widely used in a multitude of different traditional practices. These include: perfume, incense, insect repellent, and Ayurvedic medicine. Nowadays it is first and foremost used in fragrances and cosmetics: the scent that is extracted from Pogostemon cablin is commonly known as “patchouli”. Its therapeutic properties are also truly interesting and merit further research.

Indications
We recommend our organic patchouli essential oil to treat the sensation of heavy legs, varicose veins, acne, and atopic dermatitis. Due to its neuro-protective and psycho-tonic properties. It will prove itself useful during periods when you are suffering from stress or nerves. Its legendary perfume, which is due to its levels of the very rare sesquiterpene patchoulol, will fragrance your laundry (if added to your fabric conditioner). A few drops in your skin care cream, or applied directly to the skin, will act as a skin cell regenerator.

Oral administration:
Take 2 drops of organic patchouli essential oil 2 times a day. Mix with some honey or syrup, or on a lozenge, to help fight varicose veins and heavy legs due to poor circulation.
On the skin:
Mix 3 drops of organic patchouli essential oil and 6 drops of organic rose musk oil, and apply to the skin to help combat dermatoses.
By diffusion:
When diffused into the atmosphere, patchouli essential oil will rebalance the psyche, and will be an excellent psycho-tonic and sensual aphrodisiac.
