Botanical Properties

The bush that gives us the Damask rose belongs to the Rosaceae family and can reach up to 2.50m in height. Its deciduous leaves are made up of 5 green bracts. This species blooms around May-June, producing its legendary, sweet perfume. Damask rose essential oil is both rare and precious: 4 metric tons of roses are needed in order to produce 1kg of essential oil. 

Origin and history

The rose’s title as “the queen of the flowers” is not the only symbolism behind this beautiful plant: roses are also symbols of love, passion, and femininity in many civilisations. In Greek mythology, it is associated with Venus, the goddess of love. 
Its “divine” fragrance’s reputation has caused it to be cultivated far and wide, but most production occurs in Bulgaria and Turkey, where roses are grown for the perfume industry.

This lovely beauty product is particularly useful as a skincare oil. It can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and rosacea. It is a pleasure to use, due to its refined silky softness. 

Instructions

Please consult a doctor before taking any treatment or therapy orally.
Oral administration:
Take 1 drop of organic Damask rose essential oil 3 times a day, with some honey or on a lozenge under the tongue. Used as such, this oil will act as an anti-depressant. 
On the skin:
Mix 1 drop of Damask rose essential oil with 10 drops of organic macadamia oil, and use as a skincare oil.  
By diffusion:
Diffusing rose essential oil will help to calm nervous tensions.
