Botanical Properties
Tarragon is a vivacious plant that can reach up to 1m in height. It belongs to the Asteraceae family. It has many branched stems and its annual leaves are thin, smooth, and waxy.
Origin and history
Tarragon, which originated in the Middle-East, was, and still is utilised in Traditional Arab medicine for its antispasmodic properties. Ancient peoples already understood its possession of such virtues as it was nicknamed “Dragon’s herb”, as it could calm internal burning sensations. Although ancient “witches” claimed that it had magic powers and would use it to help fight off dark magic, it was its use in cooking that made it more and more common, to the great pleasure of gastronomes around the world.

Properties
Our organic tarragon essential oil contains up to 80% methyl-chavicol, giving it the following properties:

Indications
Organic tarragon oil is traditionally recommended to relieve spasmodic stomach ache, flatulence, colitis, menstrual problems, dysmenorrhea, and travel sickness. Its antiviral property make it prescribed to deal with whooping cough, allergic asthma, and allergic rhinitis (due to pollen or dust). Also, our little tip is, if you have the hiccups, take a couple of drops of tarragon essential oil to stop them.
*Instructions
Please consult your doctor before taking any treatment or therapy orally.
Oral administration:
Take 2 to 3 drops of organic tarragon essential oil, after each meal with a little honey, syrup, or on a lozenge. This helps digestion and avoids flatulence.
On the skin:
Mix 5 drops of organic tarragon essential oil with 5 drops of organic hazelnut oil, and use to give a localised massage in order to alleviate muscle cramps.
By diffusion:
When diffused in the atmosphere, organic tarragon essential oil is an effective weapon against respiratory allergies.

Energetic values and synergies
In energy aromatherapy, tarragon is linked to the sacred chakra, Svadhisthana, which is associated with the colour orange.
Tarragon essential oil will rebalance this chakra, and therefore has the capacity to incite completeness and joy, not only within the user, but also to those surrounding them.

Flammable. Oral use only under medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. Unadvisable for children under the age of three, pregnant or lactating women. Do not apply to the skin before exposing oneself to the sun. Can be used in cooking. Do not apply neat to the skin.
